ABOUT CEP & OBJECTIVES:
A rapidly changing knowledge base, the lightning speed of advancing technologies, and the unique characteristics of today’s learners all demand that the professoriate give high priority to their own professional development. There are increasing numbers of pharmacy faculty members who must be prepared to train students in skills such as critical thinking and problem solving; working in teams and collaborating; communicating with others; and finding and analyzing information. Working with students to develop these skills requires a different teaching approach and is a paradigm shift for many faculty members. Furthermore, pharmaceutical education continuously demands active research. However, there is a fine balance to be achieved by faculty members in their teaching and research activities. These types of CEPs coach faculty members through this learning process and can be part of a comprehensive professional development plan.

This CEP aims:

(i) to impart active learning and effectiveness of teaching methodology among faculty;
(ii) to understand learning disabilities of students, classroom management, active learning, presentation and communication skills;
(iii) application of various new instruments and technology in the field of pharmaceutical sciences and
(iv) to find a strategy to balance between teaching and research by faculty.
