Pharmacy college BELA Student’s Academic trip to Jaisalmer (Rajasthan)
Final year students from Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial College of Pharmacy (Autonomous) Bela Ropar concluded their academic trip to Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. During their visit, the students explored the historical sites of Jaisalmer, delving into the rich history of the region. They uncovered geological events dating back 180 million years in the Thar Desert, gaining insights into the area's natural history.
Situated near the Pakistan border and the Thar Desert, Jaisalmer is known as the 'Golden City' and serves as a guardian to western Rajasthan and India's frontier. The students had the opportunity to tour the renowned Jaisalmer Fort, also known as Sonar Qila (Golden Fort), which distinguishes itself by not only being a tourist attraction but also a bustling area with shops, hotels, and ancient havelis where local communities continue to reside.
Apart from historical exploration, the students enjoyed various activities, including visits to the lake, desert safari, and participation in night cultural programs. The academic trip provided a comprehensive learning experience, combining cultural immersion with geological insights into the unique landscape of Jaisalmer. Director of the college, Dr. Shailesh Sharma took the opportunity to congratulate all the students on a special occasion, possibly related to educational trips or experiences. Dr. Sharma emphasized the importance of these trips in providing students with valuable lifelong learning skills. Such experiences often go beyond traditional classroom teachings and offer practical insights that can contribute to personal and academic growth. By acknowledging the significance of these trips, Dr. Sharma likely encouraged students to appreciate the holistic benefits of their education and the diverse set of skills they can acquire through real-world experiences.
